Yvonne Blakeney

Yvonne Blakeney is an Arts Graduate from University of QLD. Holder of a Diploma in Ceramics, & Diploma in Art History from the Academy of Decorative Arts.

Has written, illustrated & published two children’s books, and in 2022 published “A Year In A Toowoomba Garden” to raise money for the Blush Cancer nurses.

2018 won Grand Champion Art Prize in the Toowoomba Royal Show.

2017 won 1st prize in the Kenneth Macqueen Memorial Watercolour Prize. 

2011- 2019 awarded many watercolour prizes at the Toowoomba Show.

Member of Toowoomba Arts Society and has held a joint exhibition at Toowoomba Regional Gallery.

For many years she lived in Fiji where she held many solo exhibitions. 

This series of autumn paintings expresses her joy in capturing the shimmering light of this golden season, the dancing gold of autumn leaves in their last burst of glory.
