Lisa Turner

Born and bred in Sydney, and now residing in Miranda, visual artist Lisa
Turner creates colour conscious, imaginative works that depict Australia’s
suburban, coastal and agricultural imagery. After developing an interest in
illustration and painting in her youth, Lisa felt limited by a lack of creative
confidence, and eventually abandoned art to gain a degree in business and
marketing. Two decades later, after the birth of her children and at the
encouragement of her husband, she took a few casual art classes and
reenergised her passion for painting.

Drawn to the abstract portrayal of shapes and lighting contrasts, Lisa found
her present style through the practice and refinement of these depictions.
While her works are constantly developing and evolving, she is consistently
influenced by the interesting scenes and scapes she sees, and the engaging
formations, tones and light scapes they produce. Lisa now works out of her
permanent home-based studio in Miranda, and her artworks are held in
private collections within Australia, New Zealand, the United States, France,
Switzerland, Canada and the United Kingdom.
