Rose Van Oyen

Rose is a multidisciplinary visual artist living and working in the Moreton Bay Region.
Having always been interested in arts and crafts, from an early age Rose explored the use of a range of mediums. Ceramics are however the focus of her practice, and while enjoying the tactile and imperfect natural elements of clay, she delights in creating quirky and whimsical pieces related to her love of Alice in Wonderland. Her other concerns revolve around the Australian landscape. Rose portrays the beauty of our natural Australian flora and landscape through mark making on clay vessels integrated with the ever shifting sculptural expressions of the landscape of our coastal environment. Rose is currently working towards her next exhibition. She has won many prizes over the years and has also completed private commissions. Rose holds a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art and Visual Culture).
