Kristina McGrath

Kristina is an emerging abstract artist from the northern suburbs of Brisbane. From a young age, she was drawn to creativity, with a deep love for art ignited in high school. She pursued design at university and now works as a surface pattern designer, creating textile designs for the domestic and international fashion industry. Influenced by the bold, vibrant works of Henri Matisse, Kristina adores colour, especially its saturation, using it to evoke emotion in her paintings. Her artistic process is guided by feeling—she paints in the moment, allowing her emotions to shape the work. Her preferred mediums include acrylic paint, oil stick, drawing ink, graphite and markers. Each piece is layered, creating depth and inviting viewers to connect with the emotional energy within. Kristina’s intuitive approach and dynamic use of colour bring her abstract expressions to life.
