Kylie van Tol

After many years in Graphic Design my passion for painting as a hobby turned into a full time job! Drawing and painting has been a love of mine since I was a teenager and my painting over the past 15 years has evolved with changing my subjects and improving my style but my love for painting figures, animals, landscapes and still life hasn’t changed. My artworks involve a variety of techniques using acrylic paint with large brushes and brush strokes to more detailed work for faces and hair. I love the way light can change the mood of a piece of artwork and I want the viewer to feel a connection to each piece and evoke an emotion and a memory. My works are always evolved from my surroundings including nature and people in my everyday life.

I have my artworks in five galleries across NSW and my works have been sold nationally and internationally. I have won many prizes over the years including the open prize, acrylic section, theme sections and the most important one to me is the viewer’s choice! I often do commission work for people which I find rewarding and I couldn’t think of a better job!
