Katie Whyte

Katie Whyte is a Toowoomba based visual artist known for her large scale, colourful
paintings and murals. Whyte’s art uses boldness in its colour and abstract shapes to create
compositions inspired by spending time in the landscape.
The style of her paintings reduce the terrain into simple, relatable forms which are then
expressed in a spectrum of vivid colours. It is the intention of the artist's abstract approach to explore how a viewer feels in a landscape rather than what they can see; connecting to a personal sense of place, past experience and self-identity.
