Caitlin Davis

Catie Davis is an emerging Toowoomba-based artist who works primarily in portraiture. Her interests extend towards the uncomplicated forms of still lifes, and the uncontrived and often overlooked beauty of the mundane objects she focuses on. Her particular interest in working with familiar, everyday objects stems from her desire to slow things down amongst a fast-paced world, and turn away from mainstream materialism.

She graduated from Queensland College of Art – Griffith University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Printmaking. Catie often exhibits her works in local cafes and gallery spaces. She is inspired by a diverse range of artists, including Jenny Saville, Frida Kahlo and Artemisia Gentileschi.
