Emily Blackley
I am a self-taught emerging artist living on our cattle property near Taroom, QLD with my husband and four little girls. I have been on the land all my life and have always had the overwhelming desire to create in my spare time. Since becoming a mother painting has given me the space, distraction and peace I need to continue to do the more underwhelming tasks that are part of this season of life. My art is best described as bright, Naïve and fun. I am a lover of colours, flowers and chooks; this is often reflected in my work. It is my desire to evoke joy for the viewers, young and old. I hope to practicing art for many years to come and hope it is something I can continue to enjoy with my daughters too.
