Jo Higgins
The art of Jo Higgins reflects her love of nature, animals and plants. Jo captures the beauty and diversity of nature within the framework of the Australian landscape. She uses acrylic paint, pens and pencil on paper to bring her fluid lines, patterns and shapes to life in a moment in time. There is a quietness to her work where big things meet small. Jo has a Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry. This has given her an intense appreciation of the universe and where she draws her energy.
Jo has recently retired from teaching to focus on developing her unique art style using free form lines, shapes and dots. She has created these works on paper with a fusion of Neurographic Art and Pointillism. She plans to open a small home gallery in 2025 for original work, prints and cards. Jo has won the Wynnum/Manly Yacht Club Art Prize, was a Finalist in the Whitsundays
Art Exhibition and most recently one of 80 Finalists in the National Gallipoli Art Exhibition.
