Barbara Manuel
Barbara Manuel began her first jewellery lessons in Kerang over 50 years ago. Tiny babies and a move to Westmar ended this until a chance meeting with Libby Taylor in Tara some years later and the love was rekindled. Libby Demonstrated at a 2 day workshop, Libby also
gave a list of suppliers and how to set up a home study (including what tools from the farm workshop could be used.)
This was quickly followed by longer workshops with the Central West School of Arts at places like Alpha, Winton etc. Later came Mcgregor Summer school and 35 plus years of wonderful tutors. Barbara likes to explore and has gone further in different avenues such as Enamel, different coloured metals such as copper, brass and heating titanium which gives a range of different colours; melting Metal and pouring into different mediums such as water, spaghetti, sand etc. has been the latest venture.
Barbara works from her home studio in Toowoomba.
