Inspired by observations of everyday life and my photography, my figurative works
express a relaxed and relatable realism using simple lines and layers of acrylic paint
to build a familiar scene in a play of light and shade.
“People often ask me why I paint ocean and water scenes, and that my work is
versatile and varied. This is because I worked as a fashion designer for many years
in New York, specialising as a surface designer. I created 5 collections a year on
varied themes, developing colour palettes based on fashion and interior trends. This
experience is what has shaped me as an artist. Colour and surface play is everything
to me, which is reflected in my work.
