Donna Hockey

Toowoomba based artist Donna Hockey began her art journey back in 2014 when her family moved to a little town called Surat where she joined there art group and was introduced to charcoal. In 2015 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and her art gave her the escape she needed from the horrible side effects of her treatment.
She was born in Brisbane and lived there for all her schooling years. She eventually met her
husband who lived on a property just out of Longreach, this is where her love of rural living
began which is strongly shown in her art work. Her go to medium is charcoal but she has also began to branch out into graphite, pastels, coloured pencil and acrylics.
