Felicity Cause
Within her studio, nestled in the bush of the Lockyer Valley, Felicity
Cause has been embracing acrylic paint to bring her memories and
imagination to life. Born in Australia in 1997, Felicity began her artistic
journey as a young child and went on to study art throughout her
secondary education. In the years that followed, she became a
commissioned pastel artist, focusing primarily on pet portraits. Since
then, she has dived into the freedom of her own artistic expression.
Influenced strongly by her upbringing in the outback, Felicity’s current
work highlights the beauty of the Australian landscape and the
importance of the livestock who belong there. The aerial perspective
gives the viewer a unique position, where they can truly appreciate the
connection and understanding between human and animal. Using acrylic
paint in an Australian colour palette, Felicity plays with light and its
ensuing shadows, creating shapes and movement that help tell the
stories within her paintings.
