She grew up on a cattle and cropping property outside Millmerran, where days were filled with family chatter, home-cooked meals, and endless opportunities to explore, learn, work, and play. This upbringing fostered a strong appreciation for the beauty of rural living and the sense of togetherness it brings.
For Soph, home is where the heart is, and this sentiment sits at the core of her practice. She paints what feels like home: flowers, table settings and recipes, farm landscapes, machinery, and reflections drawn from childhood memories. Her landscapes and machinery works are inspired by her father’s unwavering dedication to farming through every season, while her floral and table-setting paintings reflect her mother’s warmth and generous hospitality.
