Andrea Kirkham-Hopgood is a Melbourne based artist, who creates light filled explorations of the landscape.
Using oil on canvas, Andrea works from her own photographs to capture vignettes of the natural world. The work varies in scale from tiny mantle panels to large scale pieces. Her evocative paintings explore colour and atmosphere whilst adhering to formal oil painting techniques.
Andrea has a Bachelor of Education in Art and Craft. She seasons her art practice with teaching, facilitating workshops, demonstrations and judging.
Andrea has work showcased in various Galleries throughout Australia and collections worldwide, including: The Corner store Gallery, Orange. Satch and Co, Holbrook. Gallery Alchemy, Milton. Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, Affordable Art Fairs and Lauriston Press, Kyneton. She has been a finalist in prestigious awards such as the Lethbridge Art Prize and The John Leslie Art Prize.
