Martial Cosyn is a French-Australian painter based in Colo Vale. Before becoming a full-time artist, he spent over thirty years operating hospitality establishments in the Southern Highlands, welcoming both locals and newcomers to his tables. Those years shaped his deep appreciation for community, shared moments and the simple joy of gathering together.
This spirit carries into his paintings. Martial’s work celebrates everyday life, gardens, music, companionship and relaxed conversation and is expressed with humour, colour and a gentle, inviting warmth. He paints to make people smile, to notice small pleasures, and to feel at home.
Martial exhibits regularly across the Southern Highlands and Sydney, and paints daily from his studio surrounded by books, dogs, flowers and the rhythms of local life.
