Kate Vella is a visual artist based in the NSW Southern Highlands. Her work explores the synergy of light, form, texture and colour to reflect on contemporary themes of identity and place. In addition to her solo shows Vella is an active participant in various group shows and colloborations.Notable among these are her contributions to the ACB Select Group Show and her collaboration with Michael Reid Murrurundi and Country Style Magazine. Vella is a finalist in Korean & Australian Arts Foundation Prize, Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize, Meroogal Women's Art Prize, The Regional Landscape Prize Corner Store Gallery Orange NSW. Her work is selected for the Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award Salon de Refuses. Vella was awarded 1st Prize in The Agency Bowral Still Life Prize and 2nd place in the Best of City and Country Art Prize.
