Anna Battle is a contemporary Australian artist and designer based in Toowoomba, Queensland. Her practice is driven by a simple yet enduring aim: to share the joy of drawing and painting, and to deepen the everyday experience of those who encounter or create art.
Art has been central to Anna’s life since childhood, influenced by her artist mother and photographer grandfather. Even while studying business and later serving as an Army Officer, drawing remained a constant. After more than thirty years, four children, a lively household and countless creative ideas, she has fully returned to the practice that feels most natural to her.
Anna’s current work centres on colour and the familiar. She is drawn to the quiet narratives found in everyday scenes—the charm of a messy table, the layered stories within a complex landscape, and the joyous abundance of bright flowers. Through her work, these moments are captured and celebrated, allowing them to be experienced year-round.
