Gabi Mika-McNaughton is a Queensland-based, multi-award-winning Australian artist whose practice is primarily focused on landscape painting. A prolific painter, her work is driven by a deep engagement with the environments we inhabit and a desire to create meaningful connections with her audience.
She describes her motivation as both personal and outward-looking, painting to explore the landscape while also responding to what viewers see, feel and take away from each work.
Mika-McNaughton has been a finalist in numerous prestigious art awards, including the Paddington Art Prize, Clayton Utz Art Award, Lethbridge Landscape Award and the Muswellbrook Art Prize. In 2014, she was the winner of SHE: A National Art Prize for Women.
Alongside her studio practice, Mika-McNaughton is an active mentor and educator, supporting other artists through teaching and guidance, particularly in navigating digital platforms and social media. She strongly believes in the importance of sharing creativity and equipping artists with the tools needed to sustain their practice into the future.
