A move from New Zealand to regional New South Wales a six years ago afforded Kim the opportunity to reacquaint herself with her art practice. She had studied at the Otago Polytechnic Fine Arts School straight after high school however did not complete this degree instead went on to university completing a post graduate history degree and then later becoming a librarian.

So in 2015 becoming a resident of Armidale, New England was the perfect little regional city to inspire and encourage Kim to start painting and drawing again. Rich in artists and artistic opportunities she joined a New England Regional Art Museum art class and exhibited and sold in that first year.

There is little doubt that Kim’s work is inspired by her love of cooking and sharing a meal with family and friends. “I always hope you might feel a little bit hungry after seeing one of my paintings”. Bon appetite
