Karen Stanton or better known as Kaz Stanton is a painter and printmaker who lives and
works in Hervey Bay QLD. Her work has been shown in small galleries around NSW with
her emerging works exhibited in the Art Gallery of NSW at the age of 18.

As a child growing up on a grain and sheep farm in NSW, shaped a focus on landscapes and impressionistic narratives of rural life, with many a painting featuring the odd sheep bottom! In recent years a move to the QLD coast has informed a new way of art making with combining a fine art practice through the art of relief print making. Inspired by the coastal life and its ever- changing environment, has formed new processes and subject matters with her favoured medium being vinyl plate or traditional lino, relief oils in the reduction method.

Communicating her message through artworks has evolved from the foundation of her
training in Visual Arts and Communication Design. Karen believes the narrative is just as
important as the collective artwork, and over time you may see stories emerging from her
works that you had not seen before.
