Linzie Nardi
My artwork depicts the landscape where I live. I am naturally drawn to document the
beauty of the land and its uniqueness through painting. The Fivebough wetlands and the
Murrumbidgee River and its surrounds have been the main subjects of my artwork. I am
struck by the diversity of the landscape and its relationship to wildlife and community. My
aim for my work is that it captures the distinctiveness of the natural forms in the Riverina
and bring my viewer the same appreciation for the place. My work is process driven as most
of it is painted Alla Prima and when possible En Plein air. The landscape I depict in my work
acts as a metaphor for the human condition. My hope is that my process of painting is seen
in the work through the energic brush strokes and the layers of paint merged.
